Re: Windows 8, IE10

DISA recently released SCAP content for Windows 8 and IE10. This will be rolled into Secutor Prime's content bundle with our next product release. You can download the content and use it with Secutor Prime until then.

Re: Using other scanner configuration files

Secutor Prime consumes content written to the Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) specifications. A Nessus configuration file cannot be used by Secutor Prime. If you need to assess Windows 8 with Secutor Prime, you can try the content from DISA available here: http://iase.disa.mil/stigs/scap...

Re: Updated benchmark differences

Updates to the benchmarks are done by these sources to keep them in line with the guidance they are derived from. The majority of the updates are to keep up with the...

Tip for agentless assessments from Magnus

When performing remote agentless assessments from Secutor Magnus, you may encounter an authentication error (even when using the correct credentials). If the target has more stringent LAN Manager authentication level settings than the system on which the Magnus server is running, Magnus will be unab...

Diana,

Sorry for the delayed response. We identified and fixed an issue related to Java Accessibility in early April 2009. The fix was included in Version 3 Build 3003. If you are not using the latest version of Prime, please download it and see if that fixes your problem.

Did you happen to patch your XP targets to SP3? If so, the pre-1.0 firewall content may not have recognized SP3 (only SP2) and therefore the CPE check would fail and the content wouldn't run. Secutor Prime auto-update distributes the 1.0 content. Check the file date of the file fdcc-xpfirewall-xccdf...

This could be related to a couple things. First, make sure the benchmark is enabled. From the Navigator, open the Tools menu and select Server Settings. Click on the Content tab. Make sure the FDCC-Windows-XP V1.0 benchmark is listed and has checkmarks for Active and Display. If the items aren't che...

Chris, We have been working with NIST (and NIST with Microsoft) to determine the best way to evaluate the HKCU settings. I believe the current content requires a local administrator to be interactively logged into the target computer even when doing a remote agentless assessment (to create the HKCU ...

We have been unable to reproduce this problem. If possible, install Prime Professional on a different workstation and see if you can scan that remote target from there. Note, the way the FDCC SCAP content is written the assessment engine must enumerate all user accounts in the domain when checking f...
