We will also be putting the TG-vetted content out in a separate installer soon. Keep in mind that any time you update content files on an existing system you will need to import it with the Content Manager tool before the Magnus system will use it. Excellent! Are you planning to notify customers vi...

Routine updates of FDCC checklists?

What is the preferred method for keeping the FDCC checklists up to date in Secutor Magnus? I have noticed that installing updated versions of Secutor Magnus provides updated checklists. Is there a simple (automated) way of keeping a stable installation current? By the way, I am aware of the cl.exe p...

Agent-based scans through a firewall?

We're looking at the possibility of doing agent-based scans through a firewall? Does this sound like a totally crazy idea? The only significant configuration requirement appears to be opening TCP port 2650. Any thoughts on how huge a security risk it might be to open this port in a border firewall t...

Thanks for checking on that! Is there a chance you'd be willing to share the SQL query(ies) that return the same results as those that come with the manual export method?

Yes, that's right. We're trying to schedule daily scans in the early morning.

Trouble with scheduled tasks

Scheduled tasks do not appear to be running for us. We confirmed that the Magnus Task Scheduler is running, and the tasks run successfully when started manually. Any advice would be appreciated.

Automatic report generation, revisited

After scheduled scans execute on a daily basis, we would like to be able to automatically export aggregated results in XML format for all the 800-53 benchmarks. Thanks to a recent patch of Navigator, we currently have the ability to export this data manually, one benchmark at a time. Is there any pl...

"Different" 800-53 group results

In parsing through exported XML Magnus results files, we've found a handful of the 800-53 groups that are reported out differently than the others, but only in the Vista desktop benchmark. Those groups are: AC-2 AU-8 IA-1 SC-8 SI-6 SI-7 While all the other groups include score information, score_col...

A bit more background

Thank you for your timely response! After our automated scans run each day, we would like to be able to extract a summary of the results and communicate that data to another host on our network. Based on Part 2 of your reply, it appears that pulling that data directly from the database may be the wa...

Automated report generation

Are there provisions for automatically generating reports, in addition to automated scanning? Also, is it possible to query the SQL Server 2005 Express database directly, to extract data in a different form?
